Seasons to Sit with Kings
Jesus came with an assignment written before He arrived. So did you. A message on finding what is written of you, staying in your place, and not letting the enemy supply a plan for your life.
Topics: Purpose and vision · Leadership
Lines to remember
Key lines
He came from heaven with an assignment. He was sent to do a job.
My question to you this morning: what were you sent here to do?
Live from above and not from below.
Each person needs to understand that you came to play a part.
You want my anointing? Do you know what I had to go through to have this anointing?
Not necessarily in church, but out there in the marketplace, in politics, in science, in law.
Whose destiny have you derailed because you moved out of your God-appointed place?
If you don't know God's plan for your life, the enemy will supply his own.

(Context: The host introduces the theme, the season to sit with kings. Apostle Curley teaches on kingship as authority, enforcing the will of God on earth, and God's will for his children, and says the world is a place where we come to fulfil God's intention. The host calls the world a training ground.)
It is written of me
As I was listening, Apostle Jonathan mentioned that this world is not our home. I was also listening in terms of purpose and the will of God, and I remember it's written of Jesus: "In the volume of the book it is written of me, I come to do thy will, O God" (Hebrews 10:7; Psalm 40:7-8).
As I listened to that, some things came to mind. Yes, we need to read the Bible. But we also need to understand that there are some things written about us. Even Jesus came specifically for a purpose.
Look at John the Baptist, his forerunner. He came specifically for a purpose. He came as the voice of one crying in the wilderness, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord" (John 1:23). He understood his assignment. When he said, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29), he also said, "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30). He understood that the window he was given for his ministry was coming to a close, and the assignment of his Master was beginning. Because he was sent.
I'm jumping there because of time, and I want to give Apostle Curley time to get into it. But he was sent. There was a man sent from God whose name was John (John 1:6). He was looking for the one on whom the Spirit of God would descend and remain (John 1:33), because he came from heaven with an assignment. That's a whole other thing, when it says he came from heaven with an assignment. He was sent to do a job.
So my question to you this morning: what were you sent here to do?
I'm going to leave that there as a segment, so you can jump in and come back to that question later.
(Context: Apostle Curley teaches on God's dream versus our dream, God as the worker and us as vessels, in purpose versus out of purpose, and callings in business, politics and law.)
Search out what is written
Abraham, the Bible says, looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10). Moses understood his purpose. Daniel understood his. Even when the decree went out that no one should pray to any god (Daniel 6:7-10), he opened his windows and prayed to the God of heaven. All of them understood their assignment.
And I love Psalm 139. I'm going to get there. But I love Deuteronomy 29:29 also. The secret things belong to the Lord, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children (Deuteronomy 29:29). It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the honour of kings is to search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2).
When I listened to Apostle Jonathan and Prophet Jonathan, these things came to my spirit. We have the word, which is our foundation. Know it, live it, walk in it. But in that word it also says to us that there are some things written, planned, pre-programd by the Almighty concerning our lives. And because of that, we need to search that out.
That's the part I'm coming to. What happens many times, we have people reading the Bible, hearing from God, and the Spirit of God is ministering to them: "I have a plan. There's a course you need to walk. There's an assignment you need to accomplish." But persons don't go after that. Press into it. Read that whole chapter and get excited about it.
(Host reads (Psalm 139:11-16): "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.")
This is the verse I wanted to deal with. We're talking about destiny. We spoke last week and the week before about seasons to sit with kings. This is our season.
When you come as Christians and understand the authority, you are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). We need to come into that revelation, that understanding, and live from there. Live from above and not from below.
But this is what I'm saying. Each person needs to understand that you came to play a part. You mentioned one of your books, The Movie Maker. When you mentioned a movie maker, it made me understand what God was showing Jeremiah in the vision of the potter and the clay (Jeremiah 18:1-6). We need to understand that we are all made for a purpose.
(Context: Apostle Curley teaches that God crafted each person for an assignment, that he compares himself only to his assignment, and on the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30).)
Everybody wants to be a Moses
This is so important, because everybody wants to be a Moses. Everybody wants to be somebody. But they don't want to go through the things those people went through. Somebody said to a man of God , "I want your anointing." He said, "You want my anointing? Do you know what I had to go through to have this anointing? Can you pay what I paid?" Grow up. God has a place for you too. God has a place reserved for you. God has something he wants to do with you.
Not necessarily in church, but out there in the marketplace, in politics, in the field of science, in law. In every sphere of endeavour God has a place for people.
Leaving the place of assignment
This is so important, because I remember, early, maybe in the sixties and seventies, and I say "remember" because I heard people speak of it, we read and listened to the testimonies of many, many persons who came out of the marketplace. They came out of business. They came out of finance. They came out of government, arts and entertainment, and in those days went into what was termed full-time ministry.
And what happened? Many of them left their post and assignment to pursue something that was traditional, that looked good, that looked very religious, but they left their appointed destiny, the appointed place to do ministry. It was a lack of understanding of the word of God, and a lack of understanding of what was written in God's books concerning their lives. Many persons thought that to really honour God and serve God you had to be on a pulpit preaching, or on a mission field somewhere in Africa or Asia. They did not understand that we've all been given a sphere, a designated place of influence. That can be in government. It could be in a law firm. It could be in a Fortune 500 company, on a board, as a manager or as a staff member. We need to be there.
When I'm saying this, I remember a story from 2 Kings. The king was sitting, and they were talking about the exploits of Elisha. There was a man there telling the king all that Elisha did. And the woman whose son was raised from the dead walked into the king's office that same day (2 Kings 8:1-6). She needed something from the king. And the man said, "King, look, this is the woman I was telling you about."
He had to be where he was positioned, working in the palace, in the office of the head of state, so that he could be a door opener. He could be a destiny helper for this woman at a certain time.
Whose destiny have you derailed because you moved out of your predetermined, God-appointed place or domain of influence?
Let me stop there.
(Context: Apostle Curley teaches that physical authority is exercised within your sphere of calling, that God judges by purpose, and that not every good idea is a God idea.)
Vessels for different uses
This is so awesome, because sometimes we need to get into the purpose of the prophets and the purpose of the apostles. God writes in books concerning us. There's a program, something set for us. Some of us are vessels of silver, vessels of gold, different quality, made for different uses by the Master (2 Timothy 2:20-21). We need to understand exactly where we fit.
Even think about utensils. They have different functions, different uses. You don't use a fork like one of my aunties. She makes me laugh. You know that's not its purpose, but she's trying something unorthodox. She is a joy to the family and gets us all cracking up.
Besides that, Paul understood that he was sent to the Gentiles. Peter understood that he was sent to the Jews (Galatians 2:7-8). The apostles understood that one was sent to the Gentiles and one was sent to the Jews. And they sent prophets with them, sent letters to them, encouraging them in how they should live, how they should walk, how they should serve the Lord. So what we're talking about this morning is very apostolic. It's very prophetic.
If you don't know God's plan, the enemy will supply his own
If you don't know God's plan for your life, the enemy will supply his own. If you don't understand God's purpose for your life, someone will give you something to live by. And we need to be very careful that we're not living and walking according to somebody else's dictates and rule book.
That's how the enemy came to Jesus: "If thou be the Son of God." Sons are trained by their fathers. Sons know the will and the heart of the father. So when the enemy came to Jesus, he was trying to say, in a sense, "Were you listening to the Father? Do you understand his plan for your life? Do you understand your assignment, why you were created?" And Jesus rebuked him. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). Every word that continually comes out of the mouth of God. Words are still proceeding from the mouth of God. As you listen to us this morning, it's words proceeding from the mouth of God.
(Context: The host and Apostle Curley continue on (Psalm 139) and (Jeremiah 1:5), "you were before you came to be.")
Done in secret
(Speaker not certain; this short passage follows the host's reading and may be the Apostle.)
When you see my rising, when you see my elevation, it was done in there, in secret. Everybody looked at David and saw him being propelled to the throne. But God looked at the secret time, the secret place, what was done when nobody else saw. So it's important that we live a life for God not just in the limelight, but in the secret, quiet places we honour him also.
(Context: Apostle Curley answers briefly that you can know what is written about you through revelation.)
See and travel
The three wise men came looking for someone who was born, because they said they saw the star (Matthew 2:1-2). A king, a great person, has been born. And they came looking, not with curiosity, but bearing gifts. Which means they knew without a shadow of a doubt that somebody great had come into time, and they came to honour him. The kings prepared with gifts for a King (Matthew 2:11).
We're going to leave that there. Next week we're going to get into God opening your eyes, teaching you how to see, or finding persons who know how to see and travel. Not just to see, but to travel. Many of us can see things, but we're never able to enter into the place of it. That's why I say, to see and to travel. It's one thing to see something. It's another thing to step in and partake of it.
(Context: The host closes and encourages viewers to share.)
A tree doesn't keep all its seed
Prophet Jonathan said you need to share. I remember what Dr. Roberts said in a training program we have for leaders. He's from Nigeria and involved in government. He said if you don't share, you run the possibility of losing what you have. Some people get a revelation and want to keep it all to themselves. There's a season for that, if the Lord asks us to. But if you keep everything to yourself... Have you ever seen a tree that keeps all its seed to itself?
(Host closes with service times.)
